web

The web site i chose is bombingscience.com i think that it is a good web site for a bunch of reasons one because its straight forward and gives u subtitles  for where ever you want to go. it has some advertisements  but  they relate to the web site  i think its filed with pictures and it looks appealing to someone who is interesting for someone who likes graffiti. Its simple the there are sub titles to organize what you want to do and it doesn't waste peoples time.  although its not very simple and there is not very much negative space its still a very use full  web site

The second website i chose is http://www.pcfinancial.ca/ i picked this website as my bad website because when i first went to use this website i could not figure out how to sign in to my bank the website was full of promotions and advertisements and if look at the top in small  tiny winy print it says sign in it took me 10 minutes to figure out how to sign in and the site is full of annoying advertisements but that is just a personal experience i think that the web page makes the users think to much if u want to sign in and actually need  use the banking on the site and they don't focus users attention you could say that they beat around the bush.

typography

so lately i have done allot of thinking about the reason why people use the font they do. and through out my buss ride home one day i was thinking about the sears logo and why they would choose the letters they did and for as long as i was thinking i couldn't figure out why they chose the letters. if i would have designed the the sears logo i would have put a more friendly and comforting logo the way they made the logo it looks very old and edgy and i don't understand the white lines in the letters and i think that as times change so should your logo for example doritos changed their logo and its never been a more popular snack. i think that if sears doesn't change their logo they will get lost in the shuffle and will lose to other newer company's.

pose and ewoke

today i did my blog post on two artist that did a graffiti piece on a wall in LA. both artists use nick names the final piece at the end was done by a artist named pose who does graffiti all over the world not much is known about him so i will move into his art. what i really like about this piece is the variety of colors and the small characters that he puts in his work although it is hard to read i think that the wildness of it and the concentration on detail makes it all worth the 3 day it took to complete. hears a link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQmHiQtVuws the artist that did the piece in the green is called ewoke he is also a unknown person but what i do know about him is that he grew up as a street artist in new york both are suck creative artist pose is my favorite but both are suck great artists.

feild trip

i think that the feild trip was a very interesting experiance. there were many different videos that varied from seriouse humorus and even bad i found that altough i can appretiate the complexity of the movie u i found that having to read subtitles with it being in french was hard and made it a less energetic experiance than i expected. the short videos i thought over all were very good they all over exseeded my expectations and i learned someting new from each one. i deffeinatly think that it made me a bit more interested in looking into the field in animmation or video. The creativity of the videos also surprised me going into the theatures i didnt expect much but i enjoyed it. Overall i thought it was a fun and enjoyable experiance.

music

So when im drawing or doing art I find that the music that listen to is critical to how my drawing will turn out. As I found out when I was on vacation at Niagara Falls at a greenhouse where I was trying to draw a flower my mind was just full of thoughts and jumbled until I put my iPod on. With music I think anyone can be influenced to draw in the way it sounds if you’re listening to something peaceful your drawing will be peaceful.

As far as inspiration goes it think that music it is a great way to help you out when you can’t seem to find inspiration where ever you go. But remember that it will depend on the song or artist you’re listening to.

the TTC

Ok so here’s the deal I lost my new camera and my new art equipment on the ttc, well it wasn’t really my fault but I wont get into that. So I saw it as an opportunity to explore the TTC system finding that the costumer service is not what everyone says it is. So this is my story.

Me and some of my friends were on a skateboarding trip downtown I brought my camera with me to film me and my friends as we jumped stairs and did our tricks. We stopped for lunch on what seemed to be a normal day except for the odd injury to my brother as he was jumping stairs. After lunch we stopped at an art store as I am a artist, to pick up a new sketch book and a new set of pencils. Our day was coming to an end as we were on our trip back, the story begins to get interesting as we get onto the 37 bus on the way to my house me and my friends were laughing and playing together all of our thing in my friends bag . As we got to our stop me and my friends got off the bus leaving the back pack on the bus.

I got up to my house and told my parents willing to face whatever consequence was about to come, my mom suggested that I wait for the next bus get on and ask the bus driver if he can call out to the busses to check for my bag.

I got on the next bus to see a nice man who was willing to take his time to help me and my friend on our quest to find our missing bag. He send out a radio to the busses asking for the drivers to check the busses as me and my friend got on the bus for free and circled around with this kind bus driver trying to help. But sadly we circled around the rout 1 hour later not a word regarding our missing bag so we got off the bus and went home.

The next day I got on the bus to go to school and once again met a bus driver who I asked to call to the station to ask if anyone had found my bag. The bus driver looked at me as if I was bothering him and said I can’t I’m busy call bay station. I said but sir the man I talked to yesterday called down to the station why can’t you help me. He brushed me off so I sat down and went on my way to school.

On my way home from school worried that by now someone has found and stolen my camera and art is toped one more time in a desperate attempt and asked a ttc lady if she has seen anything she briefly checked the ticket booth and shrugged me off so I went home.

I learned many things from this, starting with that not all people from the TTC are bad some of them are very nice like the first TTC driver in the story I don’t think that the TTC has bad costumer service just some bad employees, nothing to be ashamed of every company has them. It’s now been 2 days and I miss my camera but I am starting to get used to never seeing it again. If anything I want people to realize that there are good sides to the TTC not everyone is bad. I ride the TTC every day and only run into a bad employee once and a while.

el anatsui

El Anatsui was born in Anyako, and trained at the College of Art, University of Science and Technology, in Kumasi, in central Ghana. He began teaching at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1975, and has become affiliated with the Nsukka group.Anatsui's preferred media is clay and wood, which he uses to create objects based on traditional Ghanaian beliefs and other subjects. He has cut wood with chainsaws and blackened it with acetylene torches.

El Anatsui`s art work is very much different. his art work is very big and takes up alot of space altough at the same time is beautiful. his art work is made up of many different objects which could be called recycleable altough he does not consider himself to be recyceling. many of his art work, i would say has kind of an quilt like aperance and has many peices of metal sewn together.

His concernes manily with his art work is africas history and the way africa has formed over time. he is very concerned with his country and rifely should be.

i think his art work is amazing it is the type of art that you sit and wonder how did he make this and why did he make this. i think that resurching on this man was fun and very interesting.
