the TTC

Ok so here’s the deal I lost my new camera and my new art equipment on the ttc, well it wasn’t really my fault but I wont get into that. So I saw it as an opportunity to explore the TTC system finding that the costumer service is not what everyone says it is. So this is my story.

Me and some of my friends were on a skateboarding trip downtown I brought my camera with me to film me and my friends as we jumped stairs and did our tricks. We stopped for lunch on what seemed to be a normal day except for the odd injury to my brother as he was jumping stairs. After lunch we stopped at an art store as I am a artist, to pick up a new sketch book and a new set of pencils. Our day was coming to an end as we were on our trip back, the story begins to get interesting as we get onto the 37 bus on the way to my house me and my friends were laughing and playing together all of our thing in my friends bag . As we got to our stop me and my friends got off the bus leaving the back pack on the bus.

I got up to my house and told my parents willing to face whatever consequence was about to come, my mom suggested that I wait for the next bus get on and ask the bus driver if he can call out to the busses to check for my bag.

I got on the next bus to see a nice man who was willing to take his time to help me and my friend on our quest to find our missing bag. He send out a radio to the busses asking for the drivers to check the busses as me and my friend got on the bus for free and circled around with this kind bus driver trying to help. But sadly we circled around the rout 1 hour later not a word regarding our missing bag so we got off the bus and went home.

The next day I got on the bus to go to school and once again met a bus driver who I asked to call to the station to ask if anyone had found my bag. The bus driver looked at me as if I was bothering him and said I can’t I’m busy call bay station. I said but sir the man I talked to yesterday called down to the station why can’t you help me. He brushed me off so I sat down and went on my way to school.

On my way home from school worried that by now someone has found and stolen my camera and art is toped one more time in a desperate attempt and asked a ttc lady if she has seen anything she briefly checked the ticket booth and shrugged me off so I went home.

I learned many things from this, starting with that not all people from the TTC are bad some of them are very nice like the first TTC driver in the story I don’t think that the TTC has bad costumer service just some bad employees, nothing to be ashamed of every company has them. It’s now been 2 days and I miss my camera but I am starting to get used to never seeing it again. If anything I want people to realize that there are good sides to the TTC not everyone is bad. I ride the TTC every day and only run into a bad employee once and a while.

el anatsui

El Anatsui was born in Anyako, and trained at the College of Art, University of Science and Technology, in Kumasi, in central Ghana. He began teaching at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1975, and has become affiliated with the Nsukka group.Anatsui's preferred media is clay and wood, which he uses to create objects based on traditional Ghanaian beliefs and other subjects. He has cut wood with chainsaws and blackened it with acetylene torches.

El Anatsui`s art work is very much different. his art work is very big and takes up alot of space altough at the same time is beautiful. his art work is made up of many different objects which could be called recycleable altough he does not consider himself to be recyceling. many of his art work, i would say has kind of an quilt like aperance and has many peices of metal sewn together.

His concernes manily with his art work is africas history and the way africa has formed over time. he is very concerned with his country and rifely should be.

i think his art work is amazing it is the type of art that you sit and wonder how did he make this and why did he make this. i think that resurching on this man was fun and very interesting.
